Multi-Trophic Marine Hatchery

Mahe Island . Seychelles

Welcome to

PhytoPelagic Aquaculture

Based in the tropical paradise of the Seychelles, our company has begun its journey to establish a multi-trophic marine hatchery.
This is a pilot project which aims to operate an aquaculture operation for the cultivation of targeted fin-fish, commercially important echinoderms (sea cucumbers, sea urchins), seaweed, and aquaculture specific phytoplankton.
We aim to make the Seychelles known as a centre of expertise and excellence in sustainable aquacultural production and preservation of valuable marine resources.
We will be an open-source supplier to all potential clients for live grow out stock.
We will serve as a regional 'knowledge centre' for the aquaculture sector.
PhytoPelagic Aquaculture has been licensed by the Seychelles Fishing Authority to establish our hatchery on the island of Mahe and is partly funded by The Seychelles Conservation and Climate Adaptation Trust – SeyCCAT.
